Such a cosy, homely Hostel, we had such a fun time, the location was amazing and people/staff were fantastic, with so much information about what to do and where to go. Will definitely be back!!
Great hostel in a great location. The staff was really helpful and nice. The hostel is very charming and had a cool vibe, the bed was bad but it didn't affect my time at the hotel orin budapest.
I stayed here in the beginning of December, upon arriving the reception couldn't of been friendlier it was last so i went straight to bed, comfy bed had a good nights sleep next day new receptionist but still just as friendly it was Fantastic!!! Location wise you would struggle to beat it, will definitely be my go to place when i visit budpest
Excellent experience at this hostel. Staff were the best I have dealt with. I arrived after an overnight train. Room was ready when I arrived, and was offered fresh coffee. Rooms/bathrooms/common area were always clean. Lockers were big enough for my backpack. The hostel itself is very secure. A 10 minute walk to the river/shops and around the same to the Jewish quarter (restaurants/bars). St. Stephen's Basilica (and Christmas markets) are 5 minutes away. There is a nearby supermarket too.
Love this hostel! Best hostel I've stayed at in europe. Friendly staff, great location and cozy place. One thing I would comment on is making sure the guest knows the prices and making them pay when they get there, I stayed here three days and didn't pay until the end of my visit because I asked to pay, also the price for my first two nights were almost half as for my third one and it didn't make sense to why. Prices should be discuss at the beginning that way there aren't misunderstandings.
When I first got here, I was immediately surprised by this place - it's completely different to your normal hostel, but was still really good. There are probably only 4 bedrooms, but it added to the family environment. This isn't a party hostel, but you are close to everything that it didn't matter. Hopefully, this means you could actually catch & relax with people on a daily basis.
Rooms were spacious & clean with lockers for all, as well as the communal areas being well kept. The only slight "concern" was the limited amount of bathrooms, I can imagine when full, you need to be selective with times you want to get a shower etc. Staff were really friendly, cannot be faulted, and also made us laugh (when you try to let yourself in the front door, you'll imagine why! haha)
Definitely would come here again, especially if I need a decent night sleep.
We visited Budapest during june end this year and picked the hostel based on the positive reviews it had. And I should say we were not disappointed a bit. The place has amazing location, just a few blocks from the St Stephen's basilica, riverfront & the chain bridge are hardly 10-15 minutes walk with enough eating and partying places close by. The hostel itself is small yet comfortable and has a very homely feel. It is not like those loud party hostels common in europe. The rooms were nice with clean bathrooms. They had a small kitchen with basic amenities for do it yourself tea/coffee. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed there for 4 days and found Budapest as one of the most beautiful city and staying at this place just enhanced our experience.
Central Backpack King now possesses a piece of my heart. This place was simply amazing. Wonderful staff, great tenants, and an overall blissful atmosphere. I extended my stay twice. The man and woman who own it are the most attentive, welcoming, and helpful duo ever (as was the rest of the staff). I couldn't have asked for anything more. Not to mention, the price is a steal.
Liked: Central location, bright and colorful hostel, nice clean rooms and plenty of bath rooms. The kitchen was big enough to cook proper meals and the staff were helpful.
Disliked: Could have had a bit more atmosphere or organized night time events for guests
Liked: We loved this hostel! The staff were so friendly and helpful, they were ready with recommendations about all the best places to go out in Budapest and made us feel really welcome. We had a very spacious room and there were big communal areas where you could meet and chat to the other people staying in the hostel. The location was perfect, right next to the basilica, which meant you could walk to most of the major sights. We would definitely recommend staying here!
